Installation requirements for belt and Timming Pulley
1. Core requirements for the installation of synchronization belt and synchronization wheel1. Axis centering
- The axis of the synchronization wheel must be parallel and centered, and the deviation must be controlled within ±0.1mm/m (refer to the 5th edition of the "Mechanical Design Manual", otherwise it will cause tooth wear or tooth jump.
- Use a laser centering instrument or ruler to detect. When adjusting, the driving wheel is preferred, and then the driven wheel is calibrated.
2. Tension control
- Insufficient tension is easy to slip, and excessively large increases the bearing load. The recommended tension is 5%~10% of the fracture strength of the synchronous belt (such as the standard tension of the HTD8M type belt is 300~500N).
- Detection method: Use a tensile meter to measure, or the sinking volume in the middle of the thumb press belt is about 1%~2% of the bandwidth.
3. Match the tooth shape and size
- The tooth shapes of the synchronization belt and wheel (such as HTD, MXL, T5, etc.) must be completely consistent, and the pitch error must be less than ±0.02mm.
- The outer diameter tolerance of the synchronous wheel should meet the ISO 5296 standard, for example, the diameter tolerance of the 8M type wheel is ±0.05mm.
2. Installation steps and precautions
1. Check before installation
- Clean the synchronous wheel groove and teeth to avoid oil or impurities affecting meshing.
- Make sure that the pulley keyway and shaft key are not loose, and the torque of the axial fixing bolts must meet the standard (such as the torque of the M8 bolt is 20~25N·m).
2. Synchronous belt installation skills
- It is not allowed to pry in with a screwdriver. The wheel body should be manually rotated and gradually inserted into the synchronization belt.
- After installation, manually rotate the system 2~3 turns to check whether the toothed meshing is uniform and there is no abnormal noise.
3. Dynamic adjustment of tension force
- The tensioning force will decrease by 10% to 15% in the early stage of operation, and it needs to be tightened again after 24 hours.
- In high temperature environments (>60℃), heat-resistant material synchronization belts need to be used and tensioning force are increased by 5%~8%.
3. Frequently Asked Questions and Solutions
1. Early wear and tear with teeth
- Cause: Axial deviation or excessive tension.
- Countermeasure: Recalibrate the axis and adjust the tension according to the standard.
2. Transmission noise
- Cause: Tooth shape mismatch or poor balance of pulley dynamics (unbalance measurement > 0.5g·cm).
- Countermeasures: Change the matching model and perform dynamic balance test.
3. Synchronous belt deviation
- Cause: The wheel surface is tilted or the edges are worn.
- Countermeasure: Install the guide edge barrier, the inclination angle must be <0.5°.
